Dawn Bolotow has over 25 years of teaching and leadership in the public school systems. She is currently the Principal at Springwater Environmental Sciences School, a public charter school sponsored by Oregon City School District. She has worked in the Beaverton School District and the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. She has taught in all grades K-8 with considerable focus in literacy, math, TAG, and special education.
Several years ago, Dawn began with a vision to work with a school community to develop a school climate and culture that was unapologetically kid-centric. Bringing together the work of many leaders and voices in field of school climate, Dawn leads Springwater to go beyond rewards and consequences by focusing on each struggling student with humanity and understanding. Techniques that focus on reducing the embarrassment of mistakes and increasing students ownership of mistakes through repair are cornerstones of the school culture. Through focuses on equity and trauma informed practices, Dawn brings to life the tenants of Proactive Collaboration Solutions by durably solving issues with children and families all the while relentlessly striving to build a school culture full of joy and wonder for all students.
Dawn's family includes her partner and four teenage boys who are currently attending Springwater and Clackamas High School.
