As a Family Support and Clinical Outreach Specialist, Nicole provides support and resources to parents or caregivers bring children to Children’s Center for child abuse assessments. She also provides guidance and education to parents and caregivers in Clackamas County facing issues of abuse or neglect. Nicole is currently being trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidenced based therapeutic model that helps children and supportive caregivers cope and heal from the trauma the child has experienced. Nicole graduated with a Master of Social Work from Portland State University. Before moving to Oregon, Nicole lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico where she worked at Children’s Medical, a state-run program that medically supports families whose children have chronic medical conditions. During graduate school Nicole had the privilege of counseling survivors of domestic violence and their families at an emergency shelter.
