Oregon City School District is proud to recognize Dana Henson of Oregon City High School as this year’s recipient of the Professional Practice Award, part of the district’s Strategic Plan Staff Awards.
The Professional Practice Award honors an educator who demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous growth and student-centered learning. Recipients model a growth mindset in their instructional practice, using data, feedback and collaboration to refine their approach and strengthen learning opportunities for students.
Henson was selected for the care, professionalism and dedication he brings to his work at Oregon City High School. His commitment to examining practice, collaborating with colleagues and continually seeking ways to improve instruction reflects the important work happening across the school to help every student learn, grow and succeed.
Effective instruction is not static. It requires educators to listen to students, learn from colleagues, reflect on what is working and make thoughtful adjustments that improve students’ classroom experiences. Henson’s work exemplifies that ongoing commitment to professional growth—and the positive effect it has on students every day.
Henson is one of 10 Oregon City School District staff members honored at Welcome Back Day for work that advances the district’s Strategic Plan.
