Donald Bredehoeft III

Oregon City High School is proud to announce that three outstanding seniors have been recognized in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program based on their exceptional performance on the 2024 PSAT/NMSQT.

Donald Bredehoeft III has been named a Semifinalist in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program, joining approximately 16,000 students nationwide who represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. As a Semifinalist, he now has the opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 6,930 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million.

Donald Bredehoeft III has studied in our district for his entire educational journey thus far. Starting out at Gaffney Lane, he moved on to Gardiner Middle School and will complete this chapter of his educational journey at Oregon City High School. Donald is looking to pursue a career in Finance and will be applying to University of Chicago as well as several other schools. He has also scored a perfect 1600 on his SAT.

Justin Evers and Zachary Whitham have also been recognized as Commended Students, placing among the top 50,000 students nationwide. This honor recognizes their exceptional academic promise and outstanding potential.

The National Merit Scholarship Program, operated by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) since 1955, honors the nation’s scholastic champions and encourages the pursuit of academic excellence. Congratulations to all three students on this remarkable achievement!
