Construction in progress at holcomb

Bond-funded construction is moving forward at John McLoughlin, Holcomb and Candy Lane Elementary schools! Students, staff and the community will see big changes at these campuses this school year.

Holcomb and John McLoughlin Elementary will remain active construction sites where crews will be actively working throughout the school year. Safety is our biggest priority in an occupied school renovation project.

Please view the tour videos of Holcomb and JME provided below. They were recorded on Monday, and additional progress will be made prior to the start of school.

Families with questions about how construction may affect their student’s school day should contact the Holcomb Elementary principal directly.

We’ve been working hard to ensure staff and students will have a safe and secure learning environment. Some safety measures that have been put in place are barricades to keep students and staff out of the active construction areas, directional navigation signage so students and staff know where to go, and ongoing coordination with school schedules and staff. Students will still come in the front door where perimeter fencing will be set up for safety.

Students and staff could see many people working in the various trade industries such as electricians, HVAC workers, carpenters, and plumbers, to name a few. These workers will be separated from students in safely designated work areas.

Families with questions about how construction may affect their student’s school day should contact the John McLoughlin Elementary principal directly.

Candy Lane Elementary students will temporarily move to the King Campus during the 2026–27 school year while their school is under construction. Moving to a new space can be unsettling and also exciting, and your Oregon City School District team is working to ensure a smooth transition.
