But wait! There's more! We couldn't fit all of these wonderful retirees into just one post, so we're making another. The celebration of their dedicated service continues!

623+ — combined years of service from this year's retirees.

Behind every one of those years are students who've felt seen and connected, a family who felt supported, and a school community made stronger. Each and every one has made a lasting impact.

Thank you to our retirees for everything you've given to our district. You will be missed, but we're excited for your next chapter in your journey!

At John McLoughlin Elementary, students in the No Place for Hate group saw an opportunity to talk to their peers about bias and its impact . Together they decided that now was a great time to show up and start the conversation themselves.

With the help of their superstar advisors, they created a video to help educate their school community about bias and what it means to create spaces where everyone belongs. This video will be shown school wide in the upcoming weeks. We'll share it here as well once they've had a chance to share it with their community first.

These students are Here for it! and are working hard to make sure their fellow students feel like they belong. We know belonging is a critical proponent to student attendance. Thank you John McLoughlin Elementary No Place For Hate! 💛🎬

🩺 Happy National Nurses Week!
We have three fantastic nurses here in our district. They support our students in so many ways.
Our school nurses manage complex health plans, advocate for student wellbeing, and show up for kids in the most human ways every single day. They are caregivers, problem-solvers, and someone a student can turn to when something doesn't feel right.
Please join us in saying thank you to the great nurses of Oregon City School District. We are so grateful you're here. 💙

Out Now! 26-27 Calendars with smiling boy
On Monday, we cut the ribbon at OCHS's newly turfed multipurpose field. 🎉
The field at Oregon City High School is officially open — and it is awesome! Our outdoor learning spaces are are now able to be used year round (and without large puddles of standing water. or ducks!)

This project is part of the 2025 Bond, a investment our community made together in the future of our students and schools. And today, you can see exactly what that investment looks like: a beautiful, functional space where our students will practice, compete, and learn for years to come.

Yesterday, Clackamas Fire visited CAIS to present students Elyjah and Blake with Life Saving Awards and challenge coins after the two acted quickly to extinguish a fire in the Welding Shop before Spring Break. Their training kicked in right away — and because of that, a scary moment became a story about two students who knew exactly what to do.

The Fire Inspector was so impressed that he came back just to honor them.

Way to go Elyjah and Blake!

Let's talk about what "being here" does for our students. 📈

Students who attend school each day:
Earn higher grades and test scores - these look great on job applications, apprenticeship applications, college applications, etc.
Build stronger friendships and social connections - a strong support system helps students thrive
Feel more confident and engaged in learning - making learning connections stronger
Have better career and college opportunities - see the first three points!

We're here to support students. If you or your student needs support in attendance (or otherwise), OCSD offers counseling services for students, family resource supports, and staff who care. Please reach out to your school for more information on accessing these supports.

Show up. Level up. We're cheering for you every single day.

Phase 2 of our 2025 Bond is underway! Over spring break while students and staff were out of the. building, our team completed necessary abatement work to prepare Holcomb for upcoming construction. These behind-the-scenes steps are essential to delivering safe, improved learning spaces for our community.

🔧🦾🧑🏽‍🏭 Our CTE students aren't just preparing for the future — they're building it, coding it, and welding it right now. Thanks to local industry partnerships with Area 1 Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 290, Western States Carpenters, and United We Heal, Oregon City students are graduating with more than a diploma. They're leaving with skills, credentials, and a head start on a career they chose. These are real opportunities, right here in Oregon City.
