Overview
Oregon offers funding to support Outdoor School programs for fifth and sixth-grade students, providing immersive, hands-on environmental education experiences. These programs are designed to enhance students' understanding of natural sciences and foster a connection with the environment.
OSU Extension Service administers grants to public school districts, education service districts (ESDs), and state-sponsored charter schools. Funding is allocated to support a minimum three-day, maximum six-day outdoor educational experience during the school year. The application process includes annual submissions and reporting requirements.
